More and more boat builders are using DRS/VIMAR lighting and switching components in their new constructions.There are over 200 modular, interchangeable possibilities in the "IDEA" series of devices and cover plates. Electronic Engine Instrumentation

CAN bus, J-1939 or DATA LINK? They all mean the same thing and are about the only thing that modern electronic diesel engines have in common.At COMMON GROUND we couple a very simple multi-station start/ stop system with MURPHY POWERVIEW digital instruments. Straight forward and easy to install, all that has to be done is to specify the length of the wiring harnesses. Deutsch waterproof plugs are used throughout and special functions and/or layouts can be designed to meet your unique application.

Control System For Alaska Diesel Electric

Last year ALASKA DIESEL ELECTRIC (ADE) tasked COMMON GROUND to develop a control / instrumentation package for their new series electronic propulsion engines.We were able to condense the amount of wire needed and relocate the ECU to a remote wash down resistant enclosure. This approach will greatly facilitate installation and service. The J-1939 data output will plug directly into any CAN bus display such as our MURPHY POWERVIEW display or VDO OCEANLINK instruments.Speed control and start signal inputs are located in a plug ready to connect to most popular speed gear systems like Glendinning or Twin Disc. We also provide a throttle assembly to assist in a re-power where Morse 33C cables are in use.
